Deep Sockets
GripSafe® ST seal expansion nuts are set deep in the plug, beyond the reach of a standard socket. Our deep sockets have the extended depth to fully engage those nuts and turn them to the recommended torque values in the operating manual.
Lifting Device
Larger GripSafe® ST plugs are heavy. The lifting device lets your crew rig them to raise, lower, and position them in the pipe quickly and safely.

Pipe Reinforcement Device (PRD)
PRDs clamp around the outside of the pipe at the wedge and seal locations, supporting thin-wall pipe against the forces of the plug during testing. With a safety chain added to the front of the plug, they also serve as a safety gag device.

GripSafe® ST Accessories FAQ
Why do I need a deep socket?
The seal expansion nuts sit deep in the plug. A standard socket can't fully engage them, so you risk slipping and won't reliably reach the recommended torque.
When is a Pipe Reinforcement Device required?
When testing A106 Grade B pipe, 4" and larger, at a back pressure above the P-value in your plug's size chart. PRDs are strongly recommended for all Schedule 10/10S and thinner pipe. For other materials, consult our engineering team.
Can a PRD be used as a safety gag?
Yes. Add a safety chain to the front of the plug where your procedures require it. Chain length depends on how deep the plug sits in the pipe and can be cut to fit.
Which plugs does the lifting device work with?
It's designed for the larger GripSafe® ST plug sizes. Call us with your plug size and we'll confirm.
Can I buy accessories with a plug rental?
